The positive effects on the credit crisis
Advantages of the credit crunch? Yes, some good does come from the credit crisis.
Many people will be very curious to know how on earth the credit crunch will have some sort of advantage; however,
these advantages are often seen after the credit crunch crisis. Here are some of the advantages of the credit
crunch:
CONSUMERS WILL BE FORCED TO CONTROL THEIR
SPENDING
Many consumers will be forced to cut down on their sometimes
"compulsive" buying which has dragged the economy to the mess it has found itself today. Most people through
credit buying have been dragged into deeper debts all because they want to keep up with the Joneses (why do
people even need to keep up with the Joneses?). The credit crunch or credit shock is responsible for making
consumers cut-down on their spending and allowing them to lead lifestyles that is inline with their incomes,
thus allowing people regain better management of their money and cause an increase in the national savings
rate.
THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM WILL BE CLEANSED
Many consumers and business owners often increase their
overall debt during good economic times. These debts are often acquired because many businesses need to expand
and most consumers go on to make colossal purchases because they do not know what will happen in future (and at
the time of their purchases they were feeling pretty good about the economy).
Due to the credit crisis, consumers and businesses are forced
to cut-back on expenses. Some business owners and consumers will stop making payments on their debts (for
obvious reasons), thereby forcing all financial institutions to "write off" bad loans. These forced write-offs
whether by the financial institutions or through the intervention of the government will cleanse the financial
system, therefore allowing businesses to end up having strong balance sheets and allowing consumers who were
once in deep debt increase their spending without being saddled with a colossal amount of debt.
LONG-TERM VALUATION OF STOCKS
Presently most stock owners are selling off their stocks
because of the global financial crisis and smart investors are buying good investments and holding on to them
long-term. As soon as the crisis becomes history and the chaos has piped down, these smart investors are going
to make incredible profits. Sir John Templeton, Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffet are some of the famous
investors that have used this method to their advantage.
TRANSPARENCY AND REGULATIONS IN THE FINANCIAL SECTOR IS
SURE TO IMPROVE
Financial crisis (global or not) can expose certain loopholes
in financial regulations that are being taken advantage of. These loopholes may have even contributed to the
financial crisis. The government usually reacts by creating new regulations in order to address this issue.
After a period of time these laws will bring back confidence in the nation’s economy; thus, making investors
and potential investors feel secure.
No one on earth can predict when to expect a credit crisis, but
there is one thing for sure, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Keep hope alive, this is not the first
time the world is experiencing recession, it has come but like its predecessor, it will not last
forever!
